Sonny for London; Sara for Symphony Hall

Two exciting bits of news…

First, Sonny Rollins is playing the Barbican on Saturday 14 November, the first concert to be announced in this year’s London Jazz Festival. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Tuesday and it will be his only UK date, so up with the lark and finger on the mouse!

Second, Birmingham-based singer Sara Colman has been chosen to open for Madeleine Peyroux when she plays Symphony Hall on Friday 1 May. I hear Madeleine’s concert at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival is returns-only, so if you want to hear her (and she is excellent live) then 1 May is your chance. And it’s your chance to hear Sara playing to a big audience from a big stage. A great boost for her excellent album Ready which was launched in Birmingham late last year but was officially released earlier this month.

Look out for more  on Sonny here and book for Madeleine and Sara here.
