Banner’s back in town – or is he?

James Banner – or is it Jacques Bannière?

Double bass player James Banner – or, rather, his alter-ego Jacques Bannière – has been in touch to tell me he is back in the country briefly and is playing the 5pm Jazzlines Free Jazz session at Symphony Hall cafe bar tomorrow evening with his UK chums Joe Wright on saxophone and Ric Yarborough on drums.

James/Jacques – born in Dudley, trained at Birmingham Conservatoire and now living most of the time in Berlin – promises some original music and “who knows what else”. The band will play two sets between 5pm and 6.30pm.
