Match & Fuse festival in London opens tonight

matchfuseWell, if you are in Birmingham this evening you should be at Birmingham Jazz Orchestra’s gig at The Fiddle & Bone – but if you are in London, it’s a whole different story.

The Match & Fuse Festival opens at The Vortex in Dalston this evening, continues tomorrow at Rich Mix in Bethnal Green and takes over three Dalston venues – Cafe Oto, Servant Jazz Quarters and The Vortex on Saturday.

There is far too much going on to list everything here – there are over 100 musicians taking part and they come from the UK, Latvia, Poland, France, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Hungary, Ireland, Belgium and Slovenia – but here are a few names: Blue-Eyed Hawk, Mopo, Alfie Ryner, Get The Blessing, Alexander Hawkins, Leafcutter John.

And bear in mind that the real bonus of Match & Fuse is that it introduces you to bands you’ve never heard before.
