Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra
Jazz’s broadcasting’s most cutting-edge programme, BBC Radio 3’s Jazz on 3, was at the Jazz Ahead festival cum industry expo in Bremen, Germany, back in April to explore who’s new and worth hearing in European jazz and beyond.
You can hear some highlights this evening, including the exciting Snarky-meets-string quartet, multi-layered grooves of the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra from Germany which I managed to catch (and can be heard enthusing about with Jez Nelson), and the awe-inspiring Australian Arts Orchestra, which I was gutted to have missed (that’s the problem with Jazz Ahead – there’s too much to take in!).
