In addition to the much-anticipated performance by the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra in Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Thursday 19 November, there is now the added bonus of a small combo gig by some of Maria’s musicians the following day in the CBSO Centre, also in Birmingham.

The MSJO Residency Quintet, as they are calling themselves, comprises Jay Anderson (bass), Johnathan Blake (drums), Frank Kimbrough (piano), Donny McCaslin (tenor sax) and Mike Rodriguez (trumpet), and the chance to hear some of New York’s very finest working hard, loose and spontaneously in this great acoustic space is one not to be missed lightly.

Booking for this gig became available today, so make a double date with these MSJO musicians. Act now!
