The Days Of May is the name of the band created by pianist Steve Tromans to play his Music in the Time of Revolution but it’s playing this Saturday, 1 August.
The band – Steve, Ruth Angell, Sid Peacock, Tymoteusz Jozwiak and Lluis Mather – is appearing at El Sueño Existe, the Latin American music and culture festival in Machynllech which seeks to revive the spirit of Victor Jara in this Mid-Wales setting between tomorrow, 31 July, and Sunday, 2 August.
The Chilean poet, singer/songwriter and activist Victor Jara has been a long-abiding hero of Steve’s and he dedicated music to him back in 2009.
- Steve talked about The Days Of May and the political aspects of his music in a jazzbreakfast Q&A back in May. It is here.
- El Sueño Existe‘s blog site is here and the event’s Facebook page is here.
