The Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra will be playing in Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Thursday 19 November, it has been announced.
Maria and her band of top New York players, including Donny McCaslin, Rich Perry, Frank Kimbrough and Clarence Penn, were to have played the premier Birmingham venue back in February. That date had to be postponed.
Maria Schneider’s latest recording, The Thompson Fields, was released earlier this month. Like her previous albums, which have included not only Grammy-winning jazz works but also, with Winter Morning Walks, Grammy-winning classical compositions too, The Thompson Fields was financed through the ArtistShare fan-funded scheme. Look out for a review on this site very soon.
Ticket-holders for the February SH concert have already been informed of the new date.
