Jazz and lazy Sunday afternoons go together like beer and peanuts as far as I’m concerned. And I hope there are others who will agree, especially if they like a packet of salted or dry roasted with their pint of John Smith’s. Saxophonist Chris Bowden and drummer Miles Levin share that hope too because they are starting a new Sunday afternoon jazz session in Birmingham.

It’s at The Great Stone Inn in Northfield and the first session is this Sunday (22 Feb) from 3pm to 6pm. With Chris and Miles will be Steve Tromans on piano and Stuart Barker on double bass.

Chris and Miles are hoping to make this a monthly happening, with different guests joining them each time.

  • The Great Stone Inn is at 158 Church Road, Birmingham B31 2LU and you can find out more about the pub and what it has to offer here.
