The Blues clearly contains the elixir of, if not eternal youth, at least extended youthfulness. Here is John Mayall in action at Symphony Hall in Birmingham last night, just one stop on his 80th birthday tour.
As usual, Garry says it all through his camera lens, but he did add: “Fronting a young band he seemed in fine fettle, joking with the audience between numbers, blowing harp, and playing keyboard and guitar, switching effortlessly between instruments. Prior to the gig he was seen in the foyer of Symphony Hall chatting to fans and signing albums.”
