No crying in the Chapel tonight

The Chapel is at No. 1 Shakespeare Street in Stratford-upon-Avon and it’s the fairly recent new home of Stratford Jazz, who meet every Sunday evening.

Tonight on the bill are guitarist Rob Koral and singer Zoe Schwarz. The pair took slightly different paths to jazz – he from rock and fusion, she from contemporary classical – but somewhere shortly after she had studied with Keith Tippett and he had had started to absorb some Joe Pass influences, they met, gigged together and have been an item ever since.

They released their first album as a duo in January, it’s called Celebration, is on 33 Records and is something of a homage to Billie Holiday.

For their Midlands gig they are joined by local boys Tom Hill on bass and Neil Bullock on drums. It starts at 8pm, ticket are £6 on the door and you can find out more here
